Tour plan
Morning:
9:00 AM: Begin your ride through the TPC sugar cane plantation area, passing small farms, houses, schools, mosques, and churches.
Rice Fields Stop:
Continue to the nearby rice fields, where you can observe and, if you wish, assist field workers, gaining insight into the hard work involved in producing a sack of rice.
Lunch with a Local Family:
Enriched by this experience, visit a local family for lunch. Enjoy a traditional meal called Pilau, a staple in Tanzania. Relish the hospitality of the local family as you share a meal and thoughts about life on their veranda.
Rau Forest Ride:
Continue your bike ride through the Rau Forest, a natural beauty just behind the city of Moshi. Look out for colobus monkeys with their long, fluffy tails in the tree crowns. Listen carefully to the sounds of the jungle as you cycle through this enchanting forest.
Old Railway Station:
The last stop of the day is at the old railway station, a remnant of the German colonial era. Feel as if you’ve stepped onto a 1900s film set and sense the bustling energy this magical place had a century ago. With a bit of luck, you’ll have the best view of Kilimanjaro while sipping a cold Kilimanjaro beer from the rail station bar, reflecting on the day’s incredible adventure.
Return to Accommodation:
Our guide will take you back to your accommodation, where you can stretch your legs and arms after a day on Tanzania’s rough roads.
