Trip Overview
Every year, the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu region come alive with one of nature’s most magical phenomena—the Great Migration’s calving season. Over 8,000 wildebeest calves are born each day during this period, and with them comes a dramatic surge in predator activity. From the thunder of hooves to the silent stalk of a leopard, this is nature’s theater at its most raw and breathtaking.
This handcrafted 4-Day Ndutu Migration Safari is tailored for travelers who want to witness the wonder of new life, predator-prey encounters, and untamed beauty in the lush plains of Ndutu and the extraordinary Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 1: Arusha – Into the Wilds of Ndutu (Southern Serengeti)
Your safari begins after breakfast as your private Great Time Experience Adventures guide collects you from your Arusha accommodation. You’ll travel through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands en route to the Southern Serengeti—Ndutu, the epicenter of calving activity.
Along the way, you’ll enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where forested slopes give way to sprawling grasslands. By mid-afternoon, you’ll reach Ndutu, diving straight into an exciting half-day game drive across the short-grass plains—prime habitat for calving herds and prowling predators.
Expect thrilling encounters with:
- Wildebeests birthing in the wild
- Cheetahs on the hunt
- Lions surveying their domain
- Massive elephant herds and elusive leopards
As the sun sets over Lake Ndutu or Lake Masek, retreat to your lodge for a warm dinner and peaceful night under the African stars.
Accommodation: Ang’ata Ndutu Camp (Mid-Range / Upgradeable to Luxury Tented Camp)

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Ndutu – Predator Paradise
Rise with the sun for a full day dedicated to exploring the dramatic plains of Ndutu and the Southern Serengeti. This is where the Great Migration calves are born, and the concentration of wildlife is simply extraordinary.
With picnic lunch in hand, you’ll:
- Track large herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles
- Watch predators such as hyenas, cheetahs, and lions in action
- Explore the region’s iconic kopjes and acacia-dotted landscapes
- Capture unforgettable photographs in soft morning and golden afternoon light
