Embark on an exciting 3-day trek to Mount Meru (4,566m), Tanzania’s second-highest peak, located in Arusha National Park. This trek offers breathtaking views, diverse wildlife encounters, and a perfect acclimatization hike before conquering Mount Kilimanjaro.

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport
Upon arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our dedicated representative will eagerly anticipate your arrival, holding a sign with your name on it, ready to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome.
From there, a seamless and comfortable transfer service will whisk you away to our enchanting hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel, you will be served a delicious meal. Later on, our experienced mountain coordinators and your guide will provide a pre-trekking briefing an exciting opportunity to learn about the wonders that await you in your upcoming expedition. This will be followed by an equipment check to ensure you have everything needed for a comfortable and safe climb. If you need any equipment, high-quality items can be rented locally at a fair price.
Kindly note, if your arrival is at night, the briefing and equipment check may be done early the next morning instead.

Day 2: Arusha/Moshi - Momela Gate - Miriakamba Hut
Altitude: 1,387 m to 2,514 m
Hiking Distance: 10 km
Hiking Time: 4-6 hours
Start your adventure with a scenic drive from Arusha to Momela Gate, where you’ll complete registration and meet your trekking team. From here, your journey begins with an armed ranger escort, ensuring safety as you hike through the beautiful Montane Forest.
Along the way, keep an eye out for the incredible wildlife that inhabits the area, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, and various species of monkeys. The trek to Miriakamba Hut follows a moderately challenging trail, giving you plenty of time to adjust to the altitude while enjoying the natural surroundings.

Day 3: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut
Altitude: 2,514 m to 3,570 m
Hiking Distance: 8 km
Hiking Time: 3–5 hours
After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on your trek toward Saddle Hut, navigating a steep but incredibly rewarding ascent. As you climb higher, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the Meru Crater and the impressive Ash Cone, making the effort worthwhile. Upon reaching Saddle Hut, a hot lunch will be ready, allowing you to refuel and relax after the challenging hike.
Once you’ve rested, you have the option to take a short hike to the summit of Little Meru, where you’ll be greeted with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape—a perfect way to end the day.

Day 4: Saddle Hut to Summit and Return to Momela Gate
Altitude: 3,570 m to 4,566 m
Hiking Distance: 5 km up, 13 km down
Hiking Time: 12–14 hours
Summit day begins in the early hours, with a challenging ascent from Saddle Hut to Rhino Point, followed by a steep climb to Socialist Peak, the highest point of Mount Meru. Reaching the summit just as the sun rises, you’ll be greeted with breathtaking panoramic views, including the iconic sight of Kilimanjaro rising above the clouds in the distance.
After taking in the incredible scenery and enjoying a short rest at the summit, you’ll begin your descent back to Saddle Hut for a well-deserved brunch. Once you’ve refueled, continue your descent through the scenic landscape to Momela Gate. There, our team will be waiting for you with a medal to celebrate your achievement and a transfer to your hotel in Moshi/Arusha.

Day 5: Departure day.
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred back to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure. If you wish to extend your adventure, you can add a day trip to your itinerary, exploring nearby attractions or immersing yourself in local culture. For more details, visit our

Price Included:
- Airport transfers: Kick off your Meru trek adventure with a stress-free airport pickup upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). After your summit success, relax and enjoy a convenient transfer to JRO
- Accommodation: Rest and recharge before and after your adventure with comfortable accommodation in Moshi (double occupancy) for one night each. A delicious breakfast (B&B plan) will be included each morning.
- Transfer to the gate: Relax – transportation to and from the mountain gate is included.
- All-inclusive Permits: Park entrance, camping, forest conservation, and even rescue fees are covered, ensuring a smooth and stress-free climb for you.
- Mountain Hut Accommodations: While on the mountain your overnights will be in comfortable but basic mountain huts with solar lighting.
- From farm to table: You will have three delicious meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) while on the mountain. Most of the food you will eat come from our very own farm.
- Experienced & Ethical: Our guides, assistant guides, cooks, and porters are not only highly skilled but also ethically compensated. Your climb supports fair treatment for the entire team.
- Safety First: For your peace of mind, an oxygen cylinder and oximeter are included in the price.

- Tipping for the crew: Showing appreciation for your guides, assistant guides, cook, and porters with a tip is a great way to acknowledge their hard work. We can advise on customary tipping amounts.

- Additional Food & Drinks: While meals are included on the mountain, personal preferences for snacks, energy drinks, and alcoholic beverages are not.
- Travel Logistics: Flights, travel insurance, and visas are not included.
